- Let me thank Mr. K.Gopala krishnan for giving the idea.
1. Our ancient Rishis had done Research on all the events connected with our Life to lead a happy Life. Chaturvidha Purusharthas are prescibed in our Scriptures. For the developement of Dharma and to earn Artha for attaining Kama (or materialistic happiness) in a Dharmic fashion. Finally the main aim of life is to attain Moksha.
2. For attaining Moksha in ones own humble way and to lead a Dharmic life we should pray to any God of our liking.
3. Our ancient Astrologers had prescribed a God to worship depending on the placement of Planets in our Horoscope.
- Each deity or God has unique characteristics and unique powers to offer to the worshipper. Deities are worshipped mainly for two important reasons, viz for material or worldly success and secondly to attain Nirvana or Moksha. Worshipping of lower level deities, like of bhootas and pretas, are normally discouraged as it hinders the evolvement of soul to higher dimension.
- Deities are chosen depending upon various factors and few of them are here…. Here is the list of planets that signify respective deities…
- A. A guru or spiritual teacher chooses a deity for his disciple.
- B. Deities are selected based on the problem one faces.
- C. Deities are selected based on interests.
- D. They are also selected based on Chakras.
- E. The deities are selected based on the Horoscope.
- Sun is for lord Shiva
Moon is for Goddess Parvati
Mars is for lord Karthikeya
Mercury is for lord Narayana
Jupiter is for Dakshinamoorthy
Venus is for Goddess Maha Lakshmi
Saturn is for lord Hanuman
Rahu is Naga Devta or Bhadra Kali etc
Ketu is by lord Ganesha - The deities that have to be worshipped also depends upon the 5th lord from the Lagna, and the list of the same is given below…
- For Mesha Lagna – lord Shiva.
For Rishaba and Kumbha Lagna – lord Narayana.
For Mithuna and Makara Lagna – Goddess Lakshmi.
For Kataka and Dhanus – lord Muruga.
For Simha and Vrishika – lord Dakshinamoorthy.
For Thula and Kanya Lagna – lord Hanuman.
For Meena – Goddess Parvati. - In addition to these factors, there is a specific chart called Vimsamsa, which is specifically used for spiritual practices. It is believed that the dashas of 1,5,8,9 and 12 are very good for spiritual growth.
- Another important rule is, if the most planets are linked or associated with 12th house or 12th lord, the person will become spiritual.
- Generally it is seen that in good Dasha and good Bhukti, a person will be able to meet holy men, and will be in a position to visit spiritual places, and also will make progress in meditation. And in bad Dasha and Bhukti, the person is mostly miserable, and would avoid thinking about God.
- Thinking about God, both in good and bad time will evolve a person into higher consciousness.
